Lecture by Kim Pariseau

The first event of the Winter 2025 Laurentian Architecture Lecture Series is scheduled for next week, Monday Jan.20 at 5:45 pm in the Lecture Hall. The guest lecturer will be architect Kim Pariseau from APPAREIL architecture (Montréal, QC). This lecture will be in French and it is presented by the Ontario Association of Architects. It is free and open to all.

Kim Pariseau is an architect and interior designer. She obtained her Master’s degree in Architecture from the École d’architecture de l’Université Laval and her DEC in Interior Design from Collège Dawson. She also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Since 2010, she has been at the helm of APPAREIL architecture, a firm she founded. Kim favors local materials and respect for nature, combining functionality and aesthetics. Her design reflects Quebec’s Nordic identity, using sober lines and a comfortable, functional layout that’s a pleasure to live in, even in winter. Kim was the winner of Canadian Architect magazine’s Emerging Talent Award in 2016 and the Ordre des architectes du Québec’s Prix de la Relève (emerging talent) in 2020, while APPAREIL architecture has received several awards for their work: first prize from Canadian Interiors in 2017 for the concept of the Montreal restaurant Hoogan et Beaufort, distinctions at the Grands Prix du design in 2019 for the Pastel Rita café-boutique and the Floe chair, not to mention the numerous awards received for the Lab-École project in Saguenay. Indeed, École de l’Étincelle was awarded first prize at the Global Design & Architecture Design Awards in 2022, the Architecture MasterPrize in 2024 in the Educational Buildings category, an OAQ Award of Excellence in 2024, the Governor General’s Medal in Architecture in 2024, and more.

Please note that this lecture qualifies for two (2) Ontario Association of Architects Continuing Education Structured Learning Hours.
