Gianluca Ongaro and Ethan Thomas earn second place in the NCC 2024 Urban Design Challenge

We are delighted to share that MSoA undergraduate students Gianluca Ongaro and Ethan Thomas earned second place in the National Capital Commission (NCC) 2024 Urban Design Challenge. Their proposal for the development of the LeBreton Flats Park District focused on enhancing the park experience of being on the land, while creating spaces that foster community engagement, accessibility and connectivity. It also included natural strategies to help remediate the site’s soil conditions.

On May 23rd, Gianluca and Ethan presented their winning proposal to the NCC and the general public at the Urbanism Lab in Ottawa. Congratulations!
