Kat A. Hicks (she/her) is the Assistant Librarian for the McEwen School of Architecture and Faculty of Arts at Laurentian University. She holds a Master of Information Studies (MISt) from McGill University, as well as a Bachelor of Art (Studio Art) and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Saskatchewan. Hicks’ research explores information behaviour and practices, embodiment, and information literacy. Her creative works explore material culture, mainly through the use of found media, found objects, and printmaking. Hicks’ maintains a music practice in the choral tradition and has performed with several ensembles throughout her career, including the Greystone Singers, Chœur Adleisia, and New England Symphonic Ensemble at Carnegie Hall.
