Biography

Since graduating from the University of Waterloo in 1985, Ted has worked in architectural practices ranging from small (<10 staff) to medium (20 – 40) to large (>200). As president of AECOM Canada Architects Ltd. he held certificates of practice in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, and co-ordinated engineering with LGA Architectural Partners for the design of the McEwen School of Architecture in 2012-13. He became a Lecturer with the McEwen School of Architecture (MSoA) in 2014. He is a LEED AP and a Certified Passivhaus Designer. He is also Senior Vice-President and Treasurer of the Ontario Association of Architects. He resides with his partner Deborah, a multimedia artist, in Haute Ville, Sudbury where they are restoring a heritage home which has included reducing energy use by 90%. Their daughter will enter the final year of the M.Arch. program at the MSoA in F2023.
