MSoA Undergraduate Awards and Scholarships

The MSoA is very proud to announce the recipients of five undergraduate awards, for a total amount of $16,000 in scholarships:

McEwen School of Architecture Portfolio Design Awards
Created and funded by Downtown Sudbury and Phil and Stacey Bernier, this award is bestowed to candidates who have submitted an excellent portfolio when applying for the BAS program (see image excerpts from the portfolios below):

– Noor Balit ($500 – 1st year)
– Simon Tremblay ($500 – 1st year)
– Ashely Waugh ($500 – 1st year)

Northern Ontario Construction Association (NOCA) Architecture Scholarship
Awarded to the student entering the BAS program with the best grades:

– Larina Hansen ($2,500 – 1st year)

Club Montessori Architecture Scholarships
Awarded to candidates of Italian descent from Northern Ontario who have demonstrated academic and creative excellence last year (see image excerpts from the students’ design studio work below):

– Ashlynn Gough-Favro ($2,500 – 2nd year)
– Hailee Thompson ($2,500 – 2nd year)

Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) Annual Scholarships
Awarded to candidates who have demonstrated exceptional leadership through design excellence combined with innovative approaches to sustainability last year (see image excerpts from the students’ 2nd year design studio work below):

– Sydney Dupuis ($2,000 – 3rd year)
– Landen James ($2,000 – 3rd year)

School of Architecture Founders’ Awards
Created and funded by the MSoA’s founding faculty and staff, this award is bestowed to candidates whose last year’s work recognized creativity and holistic well-being in design or landscape design in Northern Ontario (see image excerpts from the students’ 3rd year design studio work below):

– Brianna Bouius ($1,000 – 4th year)
– Brittany Sandre ($1,000 – 4th year)
– Grace Wilson ($1,000 – 4th year)
