International Women’s Day Celebration Event

The McEwen School of Architecture will host its third virtual event of the semester on Saturday March 5 (11:00 am), ahead of International Women’s Day: a panel of four award-winning architects who will discuss their work, as well as both challenges and opportunities which they may have encountered in practice. This celebration event is organized by BEA[N] – Building Equality in Architecture, and will be presented through Zoom Webinar (see link below).

The event will include presentations by:
Susan Speigel (OAA President, and Principal at Susan Speigel Architect)
Megan Torza (Toronto Society of Architects Chair, and Partner at DTAH)
Betsy Williamson (BEA/BEAT Founder, BEA(N) Advisory Board member, and Principal at Williamson Williamson)
Angèle Dmytruk (Partner at 3rd Line Studio)

The panel will be moderated by BEA(N) members and will feature introductory remarks by Shannon Bassett (Assistant Professor at the MSoA, and BEA(N) Advisory Chair and Co-Founder) and Rebecca Jacob (BAS Student at the MSoA, and BEA(N) Managing Director and Co-Founder).

This event is free and open to all . Please join us on Mar. 5 by following this link.

In tandem to this celebration event, the organizers are also calling for submissions of work for a BEA – Building in Equality in Architecture – Women in Design exhibit. See BEA(N)’s website or Instagram page (below) for more information:
