ARCH-5565 – Thesis Studio 2 – Winter 2020
The final year of the MArch Program is centred on an individual design proposition by each student. Following Thesis Studio 1, Thesis Studio 2 focuses on complex individual design projects. Since the design Thesis is the culmination of a professional program in architecture, design projects should include a proposition about a building, or a series of buildings within a community setting. During this process, written research and design research are encouraged to reinforce each other rather than to be viewed in a linear sequence.

ARCH-4465 – Atelier de thèse 2 – Hiver 2020
La dernière année du programme de M.Arch. est axée sur une proposition de conception élaborée individuellement par chaque membre du corps étudiant. Suivant Thèse 1, ce cours se concentre sur des projets de conception complexes individuels. Puisque la thèse est l’apogée du programme professionnel en architecture, les projets doivent inclure une proposition touchant un édifice ou une série d’édifices dans un milieu communautaire. Pendant le processus, les recherches écrites et conceptuelles sont encouragées afin qu’elles se consolident l’une et l’autre au lieu d’être perçues comme une suite linéaire.

EL: The MSoA M.Arch thesis is a research and design project that makes a contribution to architectural knowledge and practice. The thesis includes the self directed architectural project and integral critical written discourse of 8,000-10,000 words.
