Accreditation Student Work Exhibition

Coinciding with the 2021 Architecture Program Visit by the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) for the initial accreditation of our professional architecture program, the McEwen School of Architecture has curated a large-scale public virtual exhibition of our students’ work. This exhibition features a total of 76 assignments completed over three semesters (Fall 2019, Winter 2020, Fall 2020) in 40 BAS and M.Arch courses.

From March 14th-19th the CACB Visiting Team will evaluate our program to determine if, as a whole, it meets the educational standards that comprise an appropriate education for an architect. They will assess if our graduates are competent in a range of intellectual, spatial, technical, and interpersonal skills; understand the historical, sociocultural, and environmental context of architecture; are able to solve architectural design problems (including the integration of technical systems and regulatory requirements); and comprehend the roles and responsibilities of an architect in society. To verify this, the Visiting Team will review all of the assignments and representative student work over the past three completed semesters.

Through this exhibition, we are very excited to showcase such a large number of assignments completed by our dedicated students, which represents only a fraction of the vast array of work presented to the Visiting Team during their visit.
